In Which Life Imitates Art

I can't remember exactly how I got started down this road, but either someone suggested I should write a webcomic, or possibly I wondered aloud whether I oughtn't to and someone said yes; I think both happened within a space of a few days, actually, and that got me started.

This is all by the bye.

Essentially, having drawn the strip on Tuesday and bought a pencil eraser to erase the rough marks on Wednesday, I spent a great deal of the early parts of Thursday morning cobbling together a perl system to display the pictures semi-automagically.

I do not know perl.  As such, I spent much of the time googling things and cackling when, by some miracle, my system worked.  I also felt oddly dizzy at points.  In short, I became one with Bob.  I, too, will shortly be expressing surprise that I have wrists.

The system isn't quite perfect yet -- it'll be perfect when I figure out how to make jpeg images give up their secrets, until which time I have to store the image sizes in a little file -- but it's getting there.  The picture could be greatly improved, but I figured I'd go on to another picture instead ... hope you enjoy watching ....
